POSSESSION BY COVENANT
Sept. 15, 2021
Genesis 15:8-21
[18]So that day Jehovah made this covenant with Abram: “I have given this land to your descendants from the Wadi-el-Arish to the Euphrates River.
[19](19-21) And I give to them these nations: Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaim, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites, Jebusites.”
One of the terms and conditions of a Covenant is shared possession. When Abraham entered into a Covenant with God, God asked for the life of Abraham and gave him Himself. As a token of the Covenant, God gave Abraham possession of the land which He was the Creator. God is the Creator and Owner of the earth (Psalm 24:1, 2).
When Covenants are established, eternity is called into manifestation. Because covenant is a timeless engagement! It cannot be broken as long as those in it are keeping to the conditions on which it is established!
Those of us who have entered into the New Covenant with God should rejoice at the thought of that. What we have received cannot be annulled in time because it is eternal in expression as long as we abide by the terms of the covenant.
Covenant can only be broken when men break their pact with God. But God will never break His Covenant. And one of the advantages of the Covenant is that you receive a shared possession in the things of God!
As you go about your day today, remember that you are in a covenant relationship with God and you are co-heir in the inheritance of God!
Prayer Declaration
I partake of my inheritance in Christ. I invoke the New Covenant in my favour as I go about my business in the Name of Jesus!
